Einstar has officially introduced the Vega, a portable 3D scanner that the company calls an "all-in-one" device. The device was made available for pre-order in August and is now available.
The Vega is capable of scanning, post-processing, and saving models. There are two scan modes – Fast and HD – each using a different scanning technology.

The Fast Mode is designed for large objects, with a working distance of 350–1500 mm and a specified scan speed of up to 20 frames per second. For this, the Vega uses an infrared VCSEL projector. The HD Mode uses a MEMS projector and offers a working distance of 100–250 mm as well as a speed of up to 15 frames per second.
On the hardware side, the Vega is equipped with 32 GB RAM, a 512 GB SSD, and an octa-core processor running at 2.4 GHz – all housed in a lightweight case weighing only 535 grams. A 48-MP RGB camera is used for scanning, and the results can be viewed on a 6.4-inch 2K AMOLED display. Einstar states that the Vega can operate for up to two hours without charging but can also be used while charging.
In addition to wireless scanning, the Vega can transmit data wirelessly and project its display onto another screen or monitor. For data transfer, sharing, and storage, the Vega uses the Shining 3D Cloud Platform from Einstar, which provides each user with 5 GB of free storage.
The Einstar Vega is now available on Einstar's website for $1,999. For more information and full specifications, please visit the Einstar Vega product page.
