The new Powder Coated FlexPlate from PrimaCreator consists of three high-quality components. First, there is the magnetic surface that you attach to your 3D printer's print bed. The second and third components are a high-quality spring steel sheet coated with a layer of the best PEI Ultem.

Advantages of the FlexPlate-Powder Coated PEI

The FlexPlate-Powder Coated PEI offers the ideal print surface. It is extremely durable and easy to handle. Thanks to the flexible plate, your prints can be removed effortlessly – a slight bend is enough, and the model practically pops off.

Heat resistance and material variety

The PrimaCreator FlexPlate-Powder Coated PEI is based on a ferrite core, which is significantly more heat resistant than neodymium magnets. This FlexPlate easily withstands temperatures up to 130°C, making it ideal for use with ABS.

PEI Ultem – The perfect print surface

PEI Ultem (polyetherimide) from PrimaCreator is a reusable, largely maintenance-free print surface suitable for both ABS (with heated bed) and PLA (hot or cold). Other materials like metal, wood, PETG, and ABS+ also work excellently. Additional adhesives like glue or tape are not required. The advantages of PEI lie in the "no-surface-prep" conditions, making handling extremely convenient. Also, prints on PEI do not require support structures as parts adhere directly to the surface.

How to use the FlexPlate

1. Unpack your FlexPlate and attach the magnetic surface to your print bed.
2. Attach the spring steel plate with the PEI on it to the magnetic surface.
3. Remove the protective film from the PEI and re-level your print bed.
4. You are now ready to print. Parts should come off the surface almost effortlessly.

No heat is required for PLA, but setting the heated bed to 45°C helps. Adhesives are not necessary, but for large or long-lasting prints, we recommend using the PrimaFix glue stick to improve adhesion and make removal easier after printing. Let the plate cool after printing, remove it, and give it a gentle bend to easily detach the model.

Before each print, you should wipe the PEI surface with 70-91% isopropyl alcohol to remove grease or other residues. This significantly improves adhesion. For cleaning after use, you can use acetone, isopropyl alcohol, methanol, or soap.
