  • 3D printers that also accept other filament types like ABS and PLA.

Properties:

  • Filament hardness of approx. 85A
  • Consistent diameter and material properties for reliable, high-quality prints
  • Patented technology enables smooth feeding
  • Low adhesion level and low coefficient of friction for smooth feeding through filament guides
  • High elasticity and excellent abrasion resistance
  • Excellent adhesion to the build platform and between layers
  • REACH and RoHS 2002/95/EC compliant
  • 1.75mm filament spool = 1 kg
  • Recommended extruder temperature: 210 - 225°C
  • Recommended platform temperature: 30 - 40°C

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Which extruders are compatible with NinjaFlex?

Extruders that use spring-loaded roller bearings to apply pressure to the extruder drive gear are suitable. Due to the flexibility, the filament must be supported between the drive gear exit and the entrance to the melt chamber.

Is it necessary to coat the build platform with Kapton® tape or hairspray?

NinjaFlex adheres well to most surfaces (including aluminum and glass), so coating the build platform is not necessary. Kapton tape can be used, but the adhesion of the printed part to the tape may be stronger than the tape's adhesion to the build platform.

Does NinjaFlex work well through plastic guide tubes?

Although the surface of NinjaFlex is formulated to reduce friction, using PTFE guide tubes can help further reduce the pull on the extruder.

Is NinjaFlex suitable for food contact?

Although NinjaFlex contains no BPA or other toxins, contact with food is not recommended.

Are there special printer settings that need to be adjusted for NinjaFlex?

NinjaFlex generally works well with similar extruder settings as ABS. Adjusting retraction settings can improve print quality when stopping and starting.

Are there any additional tips for using NinjaFlex?

When switching from another polymer (such as ABS or PLA), the filament should be thoroughly cleaned before starting a print. Use a lower temperature (~180-200°C) when preheating to prevent excess material from flowing out before the print begins.

Are there any safety concerns when using NinjaFlex?

NinjaFlex should be used in a well-ventilated area according to the recommended operating conditions. TPE products can release small amounts of fumes at high temperatures. These fumes are generally considered less harmful than those from ABS, but exposure should still be minimized, especially for sensitive individuals.
