PrimaSelect NylonPower Glass Fibre - High-performance filament for your 3D printer
PrimaSelect NylonPower Glass Fibre is the latest high-performance filament for your 3D printer. This material is based on Nylon 12 and is reinforced with 16% glass fiber, resulting in an optimally durable filament. Nylon glass filament is excellent for additive manufacturing of components in the automotive industry, drone construction, and RC parts.
Main features of NylonPower glass fiber reinforced PA12
- High chemical and thermal resistance
- Excellent surface quality
- Minimized warping tendency compared to conventional nylon
- Easy to process
Strong 3D printed parts with NylonPower and glass fiber
PrimaSelect NylonPower Glass Fibre is an extremely useful material with unique properties. In this filament, nylon is reinforced with small, chopped glass fiber strands, providing incredible stiffness, structure, and excellent layer adhesion.
Easy processing of the NylonPower filament
The NylonPower filament has a matte surface and enables perfect 3D prints that are very stiff and ideal for objects with a high stiffness-to-weight ratio. Use a heated print bed set to 60 °C to ensure good adhesion of the first layer to the build platform.
Processing NylonPower Glass Fibre with a steel nozzle
Due to the highly abrasive properties of PrimaSelect NylonPower, we recommend using a hardened steel nozzle. A regular brass nozzle can also be used but will wear out quickly. NylonPower adheres well to glass treated with spray adhesive or glue.
Material properties of the Nylon Glass Fibre filament
- Weight and spool: Each spool contains 500 grams of high-quality filament, packed on a clear spool with strong desiccant to prevent moisture.
- Perfect diameter tolerance: NylonPower filament is controlled throughout the manufacturing process to ensure a diameter tolerance of +/-0.05 mm.
- Perfect spool quality: We have made great efforts to ensure that every spool is perfect, so the filament does not tangle on the spool.
- Easy to 3D print: The glass fibers mixed with nylon make this material very easy to process on most 3D printers. We recommend a hardened nozzle.
Tips for processing PrimaSelect NylonPower with glass fibers
Here you will find useful tips for processing PrimaSelect NylonPower with glass fibers on your 3D printer.
Protect filament from moisture
The glass fibers contained in PrimaSelect NylonPower reduce the amount of water that can be absorbed. Nevertheless, you should ensure to protect the filament from moisture. Store PrimaCreator NylonPower in a dry place after unpacking. The filament is delivered in a vacuum-sealed bag with desiccant to ensure immediate printing results.
Optimal processing temperature of PrimaSelect NylonPower
For optimal extrusion, PrimaSelect NylonPower requires an extruder temperature of 250 - 265 °C. This filament can be processed on most 3D printers, but we recommend using a full metal extruder for higher temperatures. At lower temperatures, the filament can also be processed, but the strength of the finished parts will be compromised.
Use of larger nozzles
Larger nozzles with 0.6 or 0.8 mm produce very strong 3D prints and reduce the risk of clogging. However, it is also possible to use a 0.4 mm nozzle.
Adhesion on different surfaces
NylonPower does not adhere well to PEI, BuildTak, or similar surfaces. Glass is the best surface when combined with Magigoo, PrintaFix, PVA-based glue stick, or other adhesives. Avoid using fans when 3D printing with NylonPower.
