Coated nozzles – durable & anti-stick
Coated nozzles combine the excellent thermal conductivity of brass with a wear protection and anti-stick coating. PETG, TPU, or ASA stick less, and the nozzle stays cleaner longer.
Advantages of coated nozzles
- Less sticking → clean extrusion
- Higher abrasion resistance than pure brass nozzles
- Durable & universally applicable
Limitations
- Slightly more expensive than standard brass
- Wear protection less than hardened steel
Recommended applications
- PETG & TPU (reduces stringing/sticking)
- Durable all-round solution
- More material flexibility without frequent nozzle changes
FAQ about coated nozzles
Which filaments work particularly well?
PETG, ASA, TPU – materials that often string or stick otherwise.
Are they also suitable for abrasive filaments?
Only limited. For frequent use of CF/glass filaments, hardened steel is better.
How long do coated nozzles last?
Significantly longer lasting than brass, but not as durable as hardened steel.
